Winter openings
What the venues on this map said about the cold months. Read their page again before you travel.
Winter is when a neat summer plan falls over. These notes are from the venues on this map, as they stood on 10 October 2026. They are not a promise for next January.
Glenmorangie listed June to August as every day, and September to May as Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00, with two weeks shut over Christmas and New Year.
The Glenlivet visitor centre is described by the estate as seasonal, roughly March to October. A winter week needs the venue’s own diary, not a guess.
The Macallan was taking pre-booked visits until 13 December 2026, with later dates released at the start of each month, and they want the booking at least a day ahead. There is still no pavement from the village.
Aberlour had shut the stillhouse tour for rebuilding, with small tastings still offered. That is a village visit, not a walk around the works, until they say otherwise.
The golf notes were read a day later, on 11 October 2026. Kingsbarns Golf Links listed a shutdown from 9 November until 26 March 2027. Gleneagles had the King’s Course closed from 16 to 30 November and through December, and said those dates can change. Cabot Highlands had Castle Stuart’s season running to 14 November. Carnoustie takes the Championship course off from November to March, and leaves Burnside and Buddon. North Berwick had visitors through 30 November, and not on Friday or Saturday. Muirfield listed £180 for 18 holes in November, still on a Tuesday or a Thursday.
The gin notes were read on 11 October 2026. Isle of Harris Distillery listed its experiences through to the end of October, Monday to Friday. Persie listed January and February as Thursday to Sunday, noon to 5pm, and the other days by email.
If a page here has no winter line, open the venue’s button and read the week you mean to go. Breweries move their hours too.
