Watercolour of oak casks in a stone warehouse

Speyside

Aberlour

In the village itself. The stillhouse tour is shut for rebuilding. Small tastings were still being offered.

Aberlour is the distillery in the village, a short walk from the high street and from the Speyside Way. That is the reason to stay here. On 10 October 2026 a VisitScotland trade note said the tour route was being rebuilt, with tours expected back in 2028. Until then they were still taking small groups for tastings, up to 16 people, for somewhere between half an hour and a little over an hour. Treat that as a tasting in a room, not a wander around the stills, and check it again before you book.

The afternoon that belongs with it is the river, not another glass. Craigellachie and the Telford Bridge are the short walk downstream. The longer Speyside Way stretch comes into Aberlour itself, which is the version that suits a night in the village.
