Watercolour of a birch path and a river

Walk

Craigellachie and the Telford Bridge

A short, level walk from Fiddich Park to Telford's iron bridge, on the Speyside Way.

Start at Fiddich Park in Craigellachie and follow the signed path towards Aberlour with the Spey on your right. The short version turns back at Thomas Telford’s iron bridge. Moray Ways describes it as generally level, on compacted earth, gravel, and some grass, and not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies. Allow half an hour plus the time you spend looking at the bridge.

For a longer day, the Speyside Way continues to Aberlour and on towards Ballindalloch. That section is a shared path on the old railway, almost flat, and it is a different commitment from the bridge walk. Read the Speyside Way section notes before you set out, and turn around if the river is up.

This is the afternoon that belongs next to a Dufftown or Craigellachie tour. It is a walk, not a tasting.
