Isle of Harris Distillery

Gin and whisky in Tarbert, with the ferry from Uig landing beside the door.

The Isle of Harris Distillery is in Tarbert, by East Loch Tarbert. On 11 October 2026 their visit page listed the doors Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00, and shut at the weekend. The guided experiences run from 30 March through to the end of October. The gin one was £35 and about 45 minutes. The one that takes in both the gin and the single malt was £50 and about 75 minutes. Book it on their page.

The usual ferry is CalMac from Uig on Skye, and they say the pier is yards from the door. Stornoway, on Lewis, is the airport they name, 36 miles north. Askernish, on South Uist, is a different island and a different day. The brewery on the Uig pier is not the same morning as the boat.
