The Glenlivet
A distillery up the glen, not in Dufftown. The visitor centre is seasonal, so check the dates.
The Glenlivet sits up the glen at Ballindalloch, about ten miles from Tomintoul and a short drive from Dufftown when the roads are quiet. The Glenlivet Estate describes the distillery visitor centre as seasonal, roughly March to October. Book on the Glenlivet site and confirm the week you mean to go.
Tomintoul has a separate, free estate visitor centre on the main street, with a woodland playground. A different hour from the distillery, and a good one. The glen road is narrow on the way home, so an unhurried afternoon suits it.
