Skye
Talisker
On Loch Harport, about 45 minutes from Portree when the road is clear. Book ahead in summer.
Talisker is in Carbost, on the shore of Loch Harport. It is the oldest working distillery on Skye, and in summer it is also one of the most booked. The visitor page asks you to book ahead. Do that before you book the mood of the day.
Portree is the usual base. The drive is about 45 minutes in quiet conditions. If the tour includes a tasting, the person driving stays with the water, or you have a driver, or you are sleeping in Carbost. The Trotternish sights can have their own day.
