Watercolour of a birch path and a river

Walk

Talisker Bay

An easy hour to a beach, a sea stack, and a waterfall. The hamlet of Talisker, not the distillery in Carbost.

The pin is the hamlet of Talisker, where the tarmac ends. WalkHighlands is plain about this: it is not the distillery, which is in Carbost. Park without blocking the turning space, take the track signed to the bay, and walk out and back. They put it at 3.5 kilometres and about an hour.

The beach is stones and sand, with a sea stack and cliffs. A fine Skye afternoon, or the next morning. The hamlet is further west than the distillery gate, which catches people out, usually with a smile.
