Visits are on the map. The other buttons bring in the rest. Check with the venue before you set off.

Stobo is a spa day in the hills west of Peebles. Book it, and give it the day. The road to the Highlands will still be there in the morning, possibly with more rain.

Traquair, east of Peebles at Innerleithen, hides a brewery under the chapel. The house and the maze are the spectacle. The ale is what the eighteenth century left in the cellar. Tempest is the taproom at Tweedside Park in Tweedbank, which is where the train from Edinburgh stops. That is a different afternoon.

Hawick, further south, has the Borders Distillery on Commercial Road. The railway from Edinburgh gives up at Tweedbank, so Hawick is the rest of the journey, and it is worth it.
