The Borders Distillery

Hawick's working distillery. The first Scotch whisky still in the Borders since 1837.

The Borders Distillery is on Commercial Road in Hawick. They are proud of the gap: the first Scotch whisky distillery in the Borders since 1837. On 10 October 2026 the tour page listed visits Monday to Saturday at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, about 45 minutes, at £20. The brand home was listed 10am to 4.30pm on those same days. They also say the building is set up for wheelchairs, which is rarer than it should be.

Stobo and Traquair are north of here, towards Peebles. Hawick wants the day.
