A working distillery in the middle of Oban, a few minutes from the station and the ferry.
Oban Distillery is on Stafford Street, in the town, not up a glen. Their visitor page puts it about five minutes on foot from the station. The ferry terminal is the same short walk, which is exactly why the dram and the sailing should not share an afternoon.
Book the tour on their page. Summer days and cruise-ship days fill up. Paid parking sits nearby, and it disappears when the town is busy, so the train is the kinder arrival.
Then the harbour, or the evening. The boat can have a morning of its own.
