St Andrews can hold a spa day, and it can hold a distillery, and they are happier as different bookings. Kingsbarns is the farm steading just east of town, with a gin cottage in the same yard. Lindores Abbey is at Newburgh, on the Tay, and wants the morning to itself. The spa is in the hotel by the Old Course.

The brewery is at Bassaguard, on the edge of town. Tours are a weekend affair. South Street has their pub, if you are already dodging golf bags.

The Old Course is a ballot, two days ahead, and it likes the day. The New, the Jubilee and the Eden are the other town courses, and the Castle Course is east on the cliff. Kingsbarns Golf Links is the round in the same village as the distillery, and that is a different booking too. Elie, Crail, Lundin and Leven are the East Neuk, each its own morning.
