Aberdeen can hold an evening without a distillery day. The bar on Stirling Street is the city pin, a short walk from the station.

Ellon is the other one. BrewDog’s brewery is north of the city, on the Balmacassie estate, and it wants the afternoon rather than a gap between trains.

Royal Aberdeen is the Balgownie links at Bridge of Don, and Murcar is the next club along the dune. Cruden Bay is further up the coast. Each of those wants the day, and a weekend tee time at Cruden Bay is in the afternoon. Fraserburgh is the corner of the coast, another day again.
