Walk
Ness Islands
A loop of small islands in the River Ness, a short walk from the city centre.
The Ness Islands are a chain of small wooded islands in the river, linked by footbridges, upstream of the city centre. WalkHighlands folds them into a longer circuit of the river and the canal. The islands themselves are the short version: cross, wander, cross back.
The river runs fast, so the edge wants a grown-up eye. It is a lovely Inverness afternoon, after Tain or instead of a bar, with the town still close.
