Watercolour of a birch path and a river

Walk

Linn of Dee

A short waymarked circuit where the Dee runs through a rock chasm, west of Braemar.

The Linn of Dee is the narrows, west of Braemar, where the river drops through a rock slot under the old bridge. WalkHighlands waymarks a circuit of about 3 kilometres from the National Trust car park, through the pinewood and back. Allow an hour, and budget for the parking charge.

Crathie and Royal Lochnagar are down the valley, not a walk from this car park. The linn is the Braemar end of a Deeside day, or the outing for whoever is not doing the tour. One of those. Not both, if anyone has to drive the glen afterwards.
