Watercolour of a birch path and a river

Walk

The Falls of Bruar

A short, steep gorge walk above the House of Bruar car park, just off the A9 near Blair Atholl.

The pin is the lower falls. The walk starts in the car park at House of Bruar, on the B8079, and climbs to two stone bridges. WalkHighlands puts it at 2.5 kilometres and up to an hour and a half, with 150 metres of ascent. The gorge edge is steep. Keep children back from it, and stay off the railway the path passes under.

There is a bus from Pitlochry and Blair Atholl to the car park. The shop at the start is not the visit. The falls are. It is an A9 pause, not something to bolt onto a distillery tour.
