Whisky or whiskey
The glass made its mind up years ago. You are only slightly late.
A dram is a small thing with a long memory, and it is not in the habit of explaining itself. The glen, the oak, and the weather have already had the argument. You get the result, and if you are lucky, a seat.
The names on the labels are Highland, Lowland, Speyside, Islay, and Campbeltown. Speyside sits inside the Highlands and still insists on its own introduction, which nobody has managed to talk it out of. Islay is a ferry and a morning. On this map that morning is Ardnahoe, and the older names can have another day. Campbeltown is a favourite word of the labels, and a town with a harbour that knows it.
The button on a distillery opens their own page. That is where the door, the hour, and the booking live. The weather, as usual, keeps the last word.
