Cairngorms
Dalwhinnie
High on the A9, inside the Cairngorms. A natural stop only if the driver is not the one tasting.
Dalwhinnie stands at about 355 metres, beside the A9 and the railway, which makes it look like a convenient pause between Perth and Inverness. It is a kinder pause if the night is already booked in the strath. The hill takes longer than the map admits.
The venue asks you to book, and it has said tour dates are released ahead of the season. Their page is worth a look before you are already on the A9. Carrbridge and Landmark are further up the road, treetops included.
